Jo Ann passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. She was born on January 16, 1962 in Sylacauga, Alabama to John Roland Campbell and Hettie Mae Lee Campbell.
She was a proud graduate of New Site High School and possessing a Nursing Degree from CACC, Jo Ann dedicated many years to Southern Care Hospice, where she comforted and cared for countless individuals with compassion and grace. Her professional endeavors were paralleled by her devout faith to Lebanon Baptist Church in Dadeville, Alabama, and more recently, Glenloch Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia.
Jo Ann lived a life rich with laughter and love, always finding time for her family and especially her beloved grandson, Will. Travel and beach excursions were among her favorite pastimes, along with sharing a good joke that would light up any room. Her adoration for the color green was a testament to her vibrant personality-a hue that reflected her lively spirit and nurturing heart. Jo Ann will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to warm the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Giles) Roberts of Franklin, Georgia; grandson, Will McCullers; and sisters, Linda Campbell and Beth Ford, both of Alexander City, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, William Steven Washburn; parents; and her sister, Carol Lee Campbell.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to, CACC Nursing Program Scholarship Fund, 1675 Cherokee Road, Alexander City, Alabama 35010.
Since Jo Ann's favorite color was green the family suggested anyone attending the service wear something green to honor her.
Radney Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Jo Ann Washburn.
