Jimmie "Myril" Stewart Giddens (Mam) was born to James and Eloise Stewart on January 22, 1938. She was the second child of four children born to this union. She was a proud graduate of New Site High School, class of 1955 and maintained many of those friendships until her death. Myril left this Earthly world Sunday, March 3, 2024 just in time for the choir to start singing for church service.
She married Rev. Lewis "Bud" Giddens on March 10, 1958. They began a life of serving God while raising their family of four children, Mark, Joel, Karen, and Jimmy. They pastored churches in Randolph, Elmore, Autauga, Clay and Tallapoosa counties. Many more friendships were made along the way, but the Ingram family became a huge part of their lives. During her life Myril worked at Russell Mills, Walmart, and Adult Basic Education. When she retired from these jobs, she began volunteering at Russell Medical Center. She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year for her hard work and dedication to the program.
She leaves behind her son, Mark (Cindy); daughter, Karen (David); son, Jimmy (Karla); and her adopted child, Tony (Jamie) Ingram; sister, Norma Murphy; brother, Harold Stewart; brother-in-law, Mack Giddens; sister-in-law, Doris Stewart, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mam as she was known to her grandchildren and their friends, was blessed with twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She has now been reunited with husband, Bud; son, Joel; daughter, Elaine; brother, Kenneth; brother-in-law, Bobby Murphy; her parents; as well as her best friend, Gladys.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home, Attn. Ministry Development, 2681 Rocky Ridge Lane, Birmingham, AL 35216 or Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, GA 30047.
