Mr. Jimmie Joe Dunn's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Jimmie Joe Dunn, 87, of Alexander City, will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Alex City Cemetery. Rev. Scott Railey will officiate. The Alexander City Veteran’s Honor Guard will provide Military Honors.
Mr. Dunn passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Russell Medical. He was born on April 6, 1934, in Kellyton, Alabama to Joe H. Dunn and Estelle Blankenship Dunn. He was an active member of Hillabee Campground United Methodist Church. Jimmie enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating high school. He served during the Korean War where he received the National Defense Service Ribbon. He was employed with the Alexander City Coca-Cola Bottling Company as warehouse manager. Jimmie is a member of the Lake Martin Amateur Radio Club, he enjoyed fishing, camping and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pauline Denney Dunn; daughters, Debra Jo Causey (Lynn), Jean D. Myer (Perry); grandchildren, Jesse Patterson (Jana), Peter Myer, Andrew Myer; great-grandchildren, Gaven Haire, Vance Patterson, James Patterson; brother-in-law, Jimmy Denney (Janice) and special Friend, Tim Mayfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Dunn and grandson, James Joseph Patterson.
The family requests no flowers or green plants. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillabee Campground United Methodist Church, 120 Campground Road, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
