Jewel Bonner, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024, in Alexander City, Alabama, at the age of 99. Born on December 22, 1924, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, Jewel's life was a testament to the virtues of kindness, gentleness, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
Jewel, a lifelong resident of Alabama, graduated from New Site High School and soon after embraced the role of a homemaker. She was the heart of her family, providing care and comfort to all those she held dear. Her gentle spirit and generous nature were the cornerstones upon which her life was built.
Her passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew her. Jewel found solace in the beauty of nature, whether she was working in her garden, tending to her vibrant flowers, or simply enjoying the tranquility of yard work. These simple joys brought her immense happiness and peace.
A woman of deep faith, Jewel faithfully read her Bible daily, drawing strength and wisdom from its pages. Her love for assembling puzzles mirrored the way she lived her life-patiently putting together the pieces to create a harmonious and beautiful picture.
Jewel's legacy is carried on by a host of nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the memories and lessons she imparted. They remember her as the embodiment of love, a woman whose gentle presence was a source of comfort and joy in their lives.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Hershfield Bonner; her mother, Mittie Arvella Bonner; her brothers, John Dean Bonner and Hurshel Bonner; and her sisters, Vida Mae Green, Nannie Lee Whiteard, Annie Ruth Allen, and Robbie Price. Each of them played a significant role in her life, and their passing left an indelible mark on her heart.
Jewel's life was one of selfless devotion. As a caregiver, she extended her warmth and kindness not only to her family but to all who crossed her path. Her actions were always guided by a loving heart, and her generosity knew no bounds.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Jewel will remember her as a gentle soul whose life was a living example of the virtues she held dear. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the light of a distant star continues to reach us long after it has gone.
She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
