Graveside Service for Mrs. Jessie Maxine Worrell, 90, of Auburn, will be Monday, October 20, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Greenview Cemetery.
Mrs. Jessie Maxine Worrell, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on April 19, 1935, in Clarksburg, Ohio to Merrell Colburn and Minnie Ford Colburn, Jessie's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness and devotion. She was a cherished member of her community and an active participant in her Christian faith, touching the lives of many with her warm spirit and generous heart.
Jessie's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by a loving family who will cherish her memory: her daughter, Pamela W. Jones of Roanoke, AL; her son, Michael Worrell and his wife Fran; her grandchildren, Amy Rilla Robertson and her husband Bobby, and Andy Jones and his wife Kay; along with her great-grandchildren, Jackson Robertson, Addie Robertson, and Connor Jones. Jessie also leaves behind her siblings, Gladys Sword, Murrel Colburn, Jr., Oscar Colburn, and John Colburn, who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrell and Minnie Colburn; her beloved husband, Harold Lamar Worrell; and her siblings, Ralph Colburn, Opal Mae Cook, Charles Colburn, Ora Wright, and Sharon Colburn; and her son-in-law, Danny Jones
Jessie's zest for life extended to her many interests and hobbies. She was renowned for her skill at playing bingo, a pastime that brought her much joy and camaraderie at the nursing home. Her friends there will fondly remember the laughter and friendly competition that Jessie always contributed to the games.
A lover of the outdoors, Jessie found solace and pleasure in tending to her garden. She was often found outside, caring for her flowers with a tender hand, taking pride in the beauty she nurtured. Her garden was not only a reflection of her love for the natural world but also a symbol of her dedication to cultivating beauty in all aspects of her life.
Jessie's character was the embodiment of love and faith. Her selflessness was evident in every act of kindness she performed, and her faith-filled life was an inspiration to all who knew her. She approached every day with a loving heart, and her legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched.
