Mr. Jerry Lavelle Peters' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Jerry Lavelle Peters, 60, of New Site, Alabama, will be Friday, May 22, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Randy Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Rocky Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 10:30 am to 12:30 am at Radney Funeral Home. The family requests that all attendees wear bright colors and dress casual in honor of Jerry.
Mr. Peters passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on May 10, 1960 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Lavelle Odell Peters and Louise Hallman Peters. He was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Jerry was a popular Folk Artist in Tallapoosa County who had many of his paintings and media art published in the Lake Martin Magazine. Each painting reflected a story he had to tell. He always put family first but loved everyone and was always encouraging others to do their best. Jerry was big hearted, free spirited and lived life to the fullest by his own set of rules.
He is survived by his mother, Louise Peters of New Site; sister, Vickie Satterfield (Steve) of Alexander City; niece, April Gamble (Wes); nephews, Adam (Shanna) Hunter, Cody Satterfield; great-nieces, Jordan Bailey, Hannah Gamble, Maddy Waters, Makenly Waters; great-nephews, Cooper Gamble and Kip Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his father.
All visitations and services will be held in compliance with the mandated rules from Alabama Dept of Public Health.
