Mr. Jerry Lamar Brown's Obituary
A visitation for Mr. Jerry Lamar Brown, 76, of Goodwater, will be Friday, April 21, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Russell Medical. He was born on March 27, 1941 in Hackneyville, Alabama to Thomas Joseph Brown and Mary Nell Brown. He was a member of Hackneyville Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was a charter member of the Alabama Hunter Education Association and the Lake Martin Quality Deer Management Association, and a member of the Alabama Treasure Forest and the Alabama Forestry Association. Mr. Brown was a winner of the Helene Mosley award and the W. Kelley Mosley award. He was an International Hunter Education Instructor Hall of Fame Inductee and a former Alabama Hunter Education Instructor of the Year. He was a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired after 30 years of service. Mr. Brown enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and wildlife photography.
He is survived by his wife, Genelle Brown of Goodwater; sister, Linda Jean Anderson (Dale) of Alexander City; and brothers, Jimmy Ellis Brown of Alexander City and Tommy Joel Brown (Linda) of Clanton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions may be made to the Hackneyville Baptist Church, 9149 Highway 63 N, Alexander City, AL 35010.
