Mr. Jeffrey Lynn Reed's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Jeffrey Lynn Reed, 63, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Monday, April 11, 2022, at 4:00 pm at Hillabee Baptist Church. Dr. Josh Sammons will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 11, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Hillabee Baptist Church.
Mr. Reed passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at residence. He was born on October 19, 1958, in Alexander City, Alabama to James Royal Reed and Mary Frances Williams Reed. He retired from Alabama Power as an appliance service technician. He served in the Alexander City Rescue Squad. He also served as assistant coach on the Benjamin Russell Softball team from 1999-2006 and was founder of the Lake Martin Storms softball travel team. He was an avid horse rider and was a member of several riding clubs, including the Alexander City Riding Club, East Alabama Horsemen Association, and Trailboss of the Bull Gap Gang. He also started, developed, and managed the Equestrian camping section of Wind Creek State Park.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Bryant (Zach); grandchildren, Olivia Kate "Livvy" Bryant and Chase Bryant; brother, Terry Reed; and significant other, Sandra Adams, all of Alexander City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gene Reed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benjamin Russell High School’s Softball Program, 225 Heard Blvd, Alexander City, AL 35010 C/O BRHS Softball or the Alexander City Horse Riding Club, 1685 Arena Rd, Alexander City, AL 35010.
