Mr. Jeffery Kyle Jones' Obituary
Funeral Service for Jeffery Kyle Jones, 60, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 4:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Will Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Jeffery Jones, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished brother, and faithful friend, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Russell Medical.
Born on November 9, 1965, in LaGrange, Georgia, Jeffery was the son of Joel Kyle Jones and Betty Hurst Jones. He attended Benjamin Russell High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and service throughout his life. Jeffery was a Christian who professed his faith at Wayside Baptist Church and his faith was an important part of who he was and how he lived each day.
Jeffery spent several years working in the trucking industry, where he was known for his dependable nature and strong work ethic. He also devoted 25 years of service to the Tallapoosa County Rescue Squad, a commitment that reflected his caring heart and his willingness to help others in times of need. His years of service and dedication to his community left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working beside him.
Jeffery was a man who loved life and embraced it with an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and he found great joy in riding four wheelers. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns on television. Those who knew him best will remember his funny personality, his passionate nature, and the way he could bring energy and laughter into any room. Above all, he was a loving and devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the people he loved.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Becky Jones; his mother, Betty Hurst Jones; his daughter, Bethany Lauren Grogan and her husband, Mike; and his grandchildren, Raelynn Nicole Watson and her husband, Jeremy, Brayden Cade Weldon, McKayla Grace Grogan, Aliah Kay Weldon, Waylon Wesley Weldon, and Braxton Michael Grogan. He is also survived by his siblings, Joel Edward Jones, Belinda Jones Tankersley and her husband, Ed, Cindy McCormack McGhee, Brian Rebel Jones and his wife, Arlene, and Kechia Meadows Phillips and her husband, Warren. He leaves behind his beloved fur baby, Sadie Rose Jones; his special uncle, Billy Robert Hurst; his aunts, Pauline “Polly” Hurst Jones and Patricia Nelson Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever treasure his memory.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his father, Joel Kyle Jones; his son, Justin Wade Weldon; his grandparents, Robert Roosevelt Hurst and Bernice Elizabeth Watts Hurst, and Joseph Loveman Jones and Bessie Jewel Stewart Jones; his uncles, Jerry Eugene Jones and Jimmy Lynn Jones; and his aunt, Judith Ann Jones Keel.
The life of Jeffery Jones was one marked by devotion, service, and love. He will be remembered for his adventurous heart, his sense of humor, and the passion he brought to everything he did. His family and friends will forever hold close the memories of his kindness, his strength, and the many ways he made life brighter for those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, family, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
