Funeral Service for Mrs. Janice C. Tapley, 81, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, December 19, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Neal Smith will officiate.
Janice C. Tapley, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by love and family. Born into the caring arms of James M. and Inez Corley, Janice grew into a passionate and adventurous soul who touched many lives with her loving spirit.
A proud graduate of New Site High School, Janice's journey led her to a fulfilling career where she dedicated over 30 years as a dispatcher for city government agencies. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life as she served on the Lake Martin Rescue Squad and provided security at the Talladega Speedway. These roles allowed her to engage with the public, an aspect of her work that she deeply loved and valued.
Janice's faith was an integral part of her life. As a devout Christian, she lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and her unwavering support for her family and friends. Her generous nature and warm heart were a beacon of light for all who knew her.
Family was the cornerstone of Janice's world. She is survived by her loving daughter, Tara Tapley (Bryan) Lucas and her son, Tige (Michelle) Tapley. Her legacy continues through her adored grandchildren, Samantha (Bryan) Pressley, Rachel (Scotty) Dawson, Tori (Kyle) Tapley, Taylor (Roger) Tapley, Harley Tapley, and Thomas (Chelsea) Wall. The joy of her life multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Trent, Emma, Brycen, Chesney, Cruize, Kylie, Blair, Teagan, and Harper, who will all cherish the memory of their beloved "Lu Lu/Maw Maw”
Janice's sisters, Diane Moncrief and Elaine Harris, will hold dear the memories of their sister's vibrant life. She was preceded in death by her father, James M. Corley, mother, Inez Corley, husband, Dennis Parsons, son, Tracy Tapley, and sister, Shelia Rigby.
An avid reader and shopper, Janice found pleasure in the simple joys of life, such as browsing at yard sales and dining at various restaurants. Her culinary passion was evident in her love for cooking and indulging in sweets. Janice's adventurous spirit shone through her travels, while her love for working puzzles and admiring her windchimes reflected her appreciation for life's quieter moments.
The time Janice spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the treasure of her heart. Each moment was filled with laughter, learning, and the creation of unforgettable memories. Her passion for life and love for her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Janice's life was a tapestry of love, service, and adventure. She leaves behind a legacy of passion and kindness that will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be cherished, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
