Mrs. Janice Mae Cannon's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Janice Mae Cannon, 76, of Equality, Alabama, will be Friday, July 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kendrick Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cannon passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born on May 31, 1945 in Coosa County, Alabama to Luther Jackson Shurum and Mildred Louise Bray Shurum. She was a member of Kendrick Memorial Baptist Church. Janice was a devoted employee of Russell Corporation and retired with 37 years of service. She was a simple lady and a hard worker. She enjoyed flower gardening and quilting. She loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Phillip Wright (AKA - Adrain Cheyenne Wright) of Equality and Byron Blake (Trina) of Equality; daughter, Diane Porch (Marty) of Alexander City, Donna Tilley of Alexander City, Melisa Blake of Alexander City and Tena Henderson (Billy) of Kellyton; grandchildren, Stephanie Blake, Adrin Blake, James Blake (Ashley), Craig Porch, Paden Thornton (Avery), Steven Blake (Jasmine), Kaitlyn Peters (Landon), Ethan Henderson and Jamie Tucker (Ginger); fourteen great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Fogerty of Tallassee, Grace Wadsworth of Wetumpka and Karen Wright of Titus; brother, Jackie Shurum (Teresa) of Equality; and sister-in-law, Clara Shurum of Equality.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kimberly Blake; brothers, Billy Shurum and Richard Shurum; sister, Betty Sides, Wanda Shurum and Kaffie Shurum.
