Janet Leigh Skotnicki's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Janet Leigh Skotnicki, 50, of Homewood, Alabama will be Friday, October 13, 2023 at 12:00 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. Father Raymond Remke will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Skotnicki passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at her home. She was born on December 1, 1972 in Birmingham, Alabama to Howard Kenneth Miller and Brenda Jackson Miller. Janet was a Registered Nurse for over 20 years working principally at UAB Hospital. She volunteered for 6 years at Hand-In-Paw in Birmingham doing animal-assisted therapy with her miniature schnauzer, Annabelle, at nursing homes, hospital units and Children's Hospital. Janet had a passion for taking care of and loving her many dogs over the years. She enjoyed paper crafting, making greeting cards some of which were published in crafting magazines and once was chosen as artist of the month.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Michael Charles Skotnicki; mother, Brenda Jackson Miller; sister, Jennifer D. Miller (Tommy Kimbrell); sisters-in-law, Elaine Kays and Karen Romine (James); uncle, John W. Miller (Harriet) and great aunt, Edwenia Kilpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her father.
