Mr. James Roy "JR" Yarbrough's Obituary
Funeral service for Mr. James Roy "JR" Yarbrough, 62, of Dadeville, will be Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Dadeville. He will lie instate at the church for one hour prior to the service. Rev. Lowell Ledbetter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dadeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home. \r\n\r\nMr. Yarbrough passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He was born on September 9, 1947 in Alexander City, Alabama to Roy Yarbrough and Maudette Funderburk Yarbrough. He obtained a BS in business from Auburn University and owned and operated the Amoco Convenience Store in Camp Hill. He was a member of Kellyton First United Methodist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Dadeville. He was past Commander of American Legion Post 143 in Dadeville. Mr. Yarbrough loved Auburn sports and was the first in his family to graduate from Auburn. He loved hunting and enjoyed deep sea fishing with his boys. He loved his family, especially his granddaughters and loved going to the beach with them. \r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth Wilder Yarbrough of Dadeville; sons, Chad Yarbrough (Melissa) of Troy and Britt Yarbrough (Ginny) of Dadeville; grandchildren, Samantha Yarbrough, Karen Elizabeth Yarbrough, Carlin Virginia Yarbrough and Brittony Amanda Yarbrough; sister, Carolyn Richardson of Alexander City; and several nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\n\r\nThe family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to Lymphoma Research, The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.
