Jimmy passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on April 3, 1945 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to the late James Roy Wilder, Sr. and the late Bobbie Ruth Nichols Wilder. Jimmy received his Bachelors degree in Business from Auburn University. He enlisted into the United States National Guard and served in Desert Storm. Jimmy was the kind of gentle soul that never met a stranger. He was a known hugger and always offered a compliment to brighten your day.
Jimmy was a faithful family man who took care of both of his parents in their finals years. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews whom he treated like his own children. In his spare time, he could be found reading or talking about Auburn football, the weather, and politics. He loved a good meal and could eat like a horse without gaining a pound. Jimmy was the biggest Auburn fan you would ever meet. The only thing that could match his love for Auburn was his love for Donald Trump.
Jimmy is survived by his sisters, Jeanne Wilder, Ann (Tom) Goree; nieces, Megan Rich (Brock) Nix, Lindsay Goree; nephew, Tom (Riley) Goree; great-nieces, Wilder Rose Nix, Willow Nix; great-nephews, Russell Goree, Harris Goree, and Grayson Goree.
