Memorial Service for Mr. James Darren Welcher, 59, of Jacksons Gap, will be on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Vertical Point Church.
James Darren Welcher, who was known to many as a skilled mechanic and a loyal friend, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at his residence.
He was born on February 11, 1967, to Johnny Wayne Welcher and Patricial Ann Tilley Evans. James lived a life marked by many challenges. Those who knew him best would describe him as handy.
He was a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide fan and followed his team with enthusiasm and pride. His interest in Alabama football was one of the many ways he connected with others, sharing in the excitement of the game and the traditions that came with it. He appreciated loyalty, strong effort, and the spirit of competition, qualities that also reflected the way he lived his own life.
He is survived by his sister, Tammy (Mike) Racine and Constance Morgan; brother, Johnny W. (Joanne) Welcher; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
