Mr. James “Speedy” Shores of Alexander City, Al, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on October 28, 1946 in Alexander City, Alabama to Monroe Shores and Voncille Speaks Shores. He was a member of Russell Farm Baptist Church.
Speedy retired from Russell Corporation after 50 years of service. He was a loving family man who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rhonda Gayle Shores of Alexander City; daughter, Stephanie Shores Hicks (Steven) of Pike Road, AL; son, Clint Shores of Alexander City, AL; grandchildren, Trey Hicks, Kloey Hicks, Parker Shores; sister, Patricia McClellan; brothers, Roger Shores (Teresa), Ronnie Shores (Crystal) and brother-in-law, Charles Peppers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Connie Jean Peppers.
Due to COVID and the concern for the health and safety of friends and family, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
