James Lee Robinson's Obituary
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. James Lee Robinson (Jimmy), 84, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Robinson passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at East Alabama Medical Center. Born in Prattville, Alabama, on February 29, 1940, he was the son of Miley Manson Robinson and Irene Wallace Robinson. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and his family held a special place in his heart.
Jimmy graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He worked in management at Russell Corporation for 45 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his yard, along with watching and talking about all things sports. Nothing could get him more excited than cheering for his Auburn Tigers proving that he bled orange and blue.
Jimmy was always there for those he loved: taking care of his wife through her final battle with Alzheimer's, teaching his daughters the importance of hard work, and cheering on his grandchildren through all of their adventures in life. There was no greater love and support than that of their "Gandad" and "DanDan" as he could be found at every sporting event, dance recital, graduation, and wedding. Jimmy has touched the lives of many people and impacted those around him because he was a genuinely good person and an admirable man. He created and lived a great life.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Joy Stewart (Brandon), Jami McDonell (Rich); grandchildren, Holly Estes (John), Jacob Booker (Maegan), Curt McDonell (Hannah Huffstickler), and Bradley Stewart (Maggie McGough); siblings, Miley Ann Robinson, Sonny Robinson (Linda), Elaine Jones (John), and Susan Robinson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Robinson, his parents, and his special mother, Helen Whittington.
In lieu of flowers, the family request making donations to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society in memory of Jimmy Robinson.
Radney Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Jimmy Lee Robinson.
