Mr. James Brooks "Bird" Partridge's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. James Brooks "Bird" Partridge, 88, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Tim R. Wilson and Rev. Donald DeLee will officiate. Burial will follow in the Stewartville Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Partridge passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 18, 1933 in Jackson's Gap, Alabama to Roby Arnold Partridge and Lessie Lucille Blake Partridge. Mr. Partridge loved his family dearly. He was a member of Sylacauga Church of God where he was a Trustee for over 30 years and Sound Engineer and retired after 45 years with Russell Corporation. Mr. Partridge was a Korean War Army Veteran. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, eating catfish from Lake Martin, Alabama Football “Roll Tide”, and his dog, Lady and cat, Bear.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lena T. Partridge; daughter, Donna P. Jackson (Charles); son, James Larry Partridge; sister, Nancy Lou Estelle Partridge Vernon Foley; grandchildren, Daniel Trapp (Marsha), Rebecca Whitehead, Denver Whitehead, David Whitehead, Jamie Whitehead, Jonathan Jackson (Elizabeth), Joel Jackson, Joshua Jackson, and Julie Jackson; great-grandchildren, Jayde Trapp, Dawson Trapp, Noah Jackson, and Annaliese Jackson; aunt, Ethel Burkette; sister-in-law, Bessie Collins (Roscoe); special daughter, Dawn Osbourn (Mike); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and caregivers, Rebecca Whitehead, Denver Whitehead, Angela Westry, Ardrienne Kelly, and Erica Hutcherson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey Arnold and Myra Partridge; brother-in-law, Mike Foley; and special Daughter, Lea C. Gammons.
