Funeral service for Mr. James Raymond “Jim” Landers III, 50, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Alexander City Methodist Church. Rev. Wayne Cowhick will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. \r\n\r\nMr. Landers passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Russell Medical Center. He was born on July 1, 1963 in Atlanta, Georgia to James Raymond Landers (Jan), Jr. and Janice Vinson Gaston (Dwight). He was a member of Alexander City Methodist Church. \r\nJim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He enjoyed guiding around the Lake Martin Area. He was a member of B.A.S.S., NWTF, FLW and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He worked at Hyundai.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 13 years, Wendy Tapley Landers of Alexander City; son, James Sawyer Landers of Kellyton, AL; daughters, Kristin Noel Fuller of Alexander City and Katelyn Danielle Fuller of Ashland; mother, Janice Vinson Gaston (Dwight) of Alexander City; father, James Raymond Landers (Jan), Jr. of Alexander City; sister, Dianne Waites (Jeff), of Montgomery; brother, Christopher Robert Landers (Amy), of Alexander City; grandchildren, Carter Smith and Rylee Smith; nephew, Nick Tapley; grandmothers, Dorothy Vinson and Allyne E. Landers both of Alexander City; step-brothers, Jason Smith of Atlanta , Stuart Smith of Millbrook, and Michael Smith of Jonesboro, GA; step-sisters, Paige Benjamin of Birmingham and Angela Gaston of Lawrenceville, GA.\r\nThe family requests no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to the National Wildlife Foundation PO Box 1583 Merrifield VA 22116-1583 or to the charity of one’s choice.\r\n
