Mr. Patterson passed away on July 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, generosity, and love.
Born on March 3, 1962, in Opelika, Alabama, Kenny was the son of Lewis and Imogene Patterson. He grew up in Jackson’s Gap, where he learned the value of hard work and helping others - lessons he carried throughout his life. For more than 40 years, he worked with Russell Corporation, and he also built a respected career as a licensed electrician. Through his small business, he served countless families around Lake Martin, always showing up with steady hands and a willing heart.
Kenny was a man who spoke softly but lived loudly through his actions. He never hesitated to lend a hand, fix what was broken, or step in when someone needed help. Working with his hands brought him joy, and he was happiest when he was busy - tinkering, repairing, or simply making life easier for someone else.
He cherished time with his wife and family, loved fishing and boating on Lake Martin, and found joy in simple moments. Nothing meant more to him than supporting his grandchildren. Whether at ballgames, school events, or everyday moments, he was their biggest fan. To them, he was the best Pops anyone could hope for.
Kenny’s life was defined by devotion - to his family, his work, and the people he quietly supported every day. His kindness, humility, and steady presence will be missed beyond measure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Imogene Patterson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shelby Bullard Patterson; his daughters, Amy (Daniel) Hyland and Jamie (Phillip) Sobers; his stepchildren, Thomas (Brandie) Dean, Nicholas Dean, and Corey (Matt) Cox; his grandchildren, Dylan Hyland, Mollie Hyland, Jakob Sobers, Charlotte Sobers, Trinity Dean, Avery Hamlett, and Lawson Hamlett; and his siblings, Buddy Patterson and Barry Patterson.
