Mr. James Ervin Jones' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. James Ervin Jones, 84, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Jones will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Dr. Steve King will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born on July 24, 1933 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Nathaniel Crayton Jones and Sara Anna Jones. He was an active member of First Baptist Church. He attended Sunday school and services on Wednesday hardly missing a service for over twenty years. Mr. Jones was a very loving family man. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Robbie Forbus Jones of Alexander City; daughter, Janet Austin (Wayne) of Alexander City; son, Bart Jones; grandchildren, Nicholas Adams (Haley), Luke Adams (Jessi), Ross Baker (Donna), Ryan Jones, Katlin Baker Brown (Jacob), and Emily Jones; great-grandchildren, Ella Rose Baker, John Riley Baker, Larkin Adams, and Landon Adams; and son-in-law, Greg Baker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jennifer Baker; and sister, Lula Christine Jones.
