Mr. James A. "Sir" Duncan's Obituary
Crypt side Service for Mr. James A Duncan, 71, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11 am at the Hillview Mausoleum. Rev. John Hill will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Duncan passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his residence. He was born on April 2, 1951 in Alexander City, Alabama to James Benton Duncan and Mary Elene Stephenson Duncan Champion. Mr. Duncan enjoyed living in his river home on the Alabama River near Whitehall for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. He was a very easy going man who enjoyed a good TV Western movie.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debra Ann Duncan of Alexander City; daughters, Brittany Simmons (Scott) and Deborah Bowen (Doug) both of Alexander City; son, James Craig Duncan (Jessica) of Alexander City; grandchildren, James Clay Duncan, River Scott Simmons, Ivy Kate Simmons, Chad Bowen (Maddie), and Kimberly Bowen (Scott Phurough); great-grandchildren, Raileigh Bowen, Gage Bowen, Khloe Bowen, Kaiden Cirrus, Sofia Cirrus, and Koyliana Cirrus; brothers, Billy Gene Duncan (Gene) and Jeffrey Lynn Duncan (Leslie); sister, Karen Jalene Duncan Rhodes (Rick); step-sisters, Kathy Harris and Connie Adams (Marty);brother-in law, Bennie Norwood and William Slovik; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Marie Duncan Norwood; step-father, Jerry Glynn Champion; and mother-in-law, Barbra Slovik.
