Mr. James Darrell Danford's Obituary
With profound respect and heartfelt memories, we honor the life of Mr. James Darrell Danford, 67, of Goodwater, a cherished individual whose life journey came to a peaceful close on October 13, 2025. James was born on August 3, 1958 in Alexander City, Alabama to James Marion Danford and Marie Taylor Danford.
James's professional accolades included a successful career, retiring from the respected ranks of the Russell Corporation. His dedication to his work was paralleled only by his commitment to the various associations he was involved with, where his contributions were both valued and impactful.
An ardent lover of the great outdoors, James was an avid hunter and fisherman, skills he honed with passion and patience. He carried his love for Alabama Football with pride, his enthusiasm as much a part of him as his generous smile. James’s sharp mind found great pleasure in word puzzles, a pastime through which he maintained his quick wit and fondness for a challenge.
Perhaps most significantly, James lived for the joys of family. His heart swelled with love for his grandchildren, with whom he shared countless hours. Never one to miss a sporting event, he stood as their most eager supporter, cheering on their every achievement with vigor and pride. This adoration extended beyond the field, as he relished the simple pleasure of their company, always infusing laughter and love into every shared moment.
A consummate storyteller, James's tales were woven with humor and an innate sense of timing. He had a treasure trove of jokes that could light up a room and hold everyone spellbound. His laughter was infectious, his humor a balm to the soul-gifts that will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
To those who knew him, James's penchant for soap operas was a delightful quirk, a testament to his appreciation for the dramatic twists and heartfelt narratives that mirrored the richness of his own life story.
In every chapter of his life, James Danford was a beacon of joy, a pillar of strength, and a source of unwavering support. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate enough to know him. Mr. James Danford will be deeply missed, forever appreciated, and eternally celebrated.
