Mr. Jack Wilson Harris Sr.'s Obituary
Funeral Service for Mr. Jack Wilson Harris, Sr., 85, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church - Green Street Campus. Rev. Mike Densmore and Rev. Chip Vann will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at First United Methodist Church - Green Street Campus.
Mr. Harris passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at home. He was born on May 1, 1937 in Alexander City, Alabama to Woodrow Wilson and Irene Yates Harris. He was a member of Alexander City First United Methodist Church. Mr. Harris loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a United States Army Reserve Veteran, and an Auburn University graduate where he was a member of Phi Psi Textile Honorary and Sigma Chi Social Fraternities. Mr. Harris had a passion for manufacturing and problem solving. He was owner and operator of MTJ Manufacturing Company in Jackson’s Gap, Alabama, Anderson Knitting in Anderson, Alabama, and Powell Knitting in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Nona Faye Harris; daughters, Melanie Tatum (Charlie) and Tara Stone (Jack); son, Jay Harris (Lisa); grandchildren, Wilson Harris, Grantland Stone, Sydney Stone, Megan Harris, Leland Stone, and Katherine Harris; and sister, Nita Gardner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marlene Wolfe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, First United Methodist Church-Green Street Campus or Enhabit Hospice.
