Mrs. Helen Lavern McDonald-Dean's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Helen Lavern McDonald-Dean, 72, of Opelika, will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Kellyton Revival Center. Rev. Johnny Hamby, Rev. Allen Harvel, and Pastor Brad Hamby will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kellyton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 beginning at 2:00 pm at 3514 Coley Creek Road, Alexander City, AL 35010.
Mrs. McDonald-Dean passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Arbor Springs Health and Rehab. She was born on November 26, 1942 in Sylacauga, Alabama to Henry Morris Bevels and Lottie Hayes Bevels. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family very much and spending time with them. Mrs. McDonald-Dean also enjoyed going to church and gospel singings, and collecting dolls.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina Harvel (Allen) of Sylacauga and Angela Stone of Opelika; sons, John M. McDonald (Barbara), of Opelika, Johnny M. McDonald (Michelle), of Alexander City, Mike K. McDonald of Opelika, Kerry Lee McDonald; step-sons, Michael Dean and Wayne McDonald; grandchildren, Elisabeth McDonald, Amanda McDonald, Joshua Harvel (Whitney), David Harvel (Stephanie), Christopher Harvel, Shaun Harvel (Paula), Manuel Stone (Krista), Jr., MaKayla Carr (Isaiah), Jonathon McDonald (Brittany), Brittni Moran (Tyler), Heather Johnson (Jacob), Hallie McDonald, Brooke Borders (Cameron), Mike McDonald (Anna), Jr., Jared McDonald, Kaylee McDonald, Zack McDonald; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Alivia, Katilyn, and Madison Harvel, Gabriel and Manuel (Tre) Stone, III, Addilynn, Olyvia, and Avery McDonald, and Kaedin Borders.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kimsey McDonald; parents; son, Jonathan Bryan McDonald; sisters Imogene McDonald and Edna White; and brothers, Marshall Bevels and Eugene Bevels.
