Harold Eugene Patterson's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mr. Harold Eugene Patterson, 80, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Harold was born on February 17, 1943, in Jacksons Gap, AL and passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, at The Bethany House in Auburn. Known for his kindness, love, and selflessness, Mr. Patterson's life was a testament to these virtues.
Harold is survived by his loving children, daughters Angye R. Miller and Patricia Pressley, and sons Donald E Patterson (Paula) and Anthony Patterson. His legacy will continue to live on through his grandchildren Amber Barrett (Michael), Victoria Patterson, Kristen Derby, Sam Miller, and Austin Miller, and his great-grandchildren Joshua and John. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Maynard Price. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew James Patterson and Grace Blake Patterson, his sisters Betty Daugherty and Julia Price, and his brother Paul Patterson.
Mr. Patterson's life was marked by service and dedication. He served over 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Missile Systems Analyst Specialist, including during the Vietnam War. His courage and bravery during this time earned him several honors. Following his military career, Harold worked for the U.S. Postal Service, where he also retired.
Beyond his professional life, Harold had a passion for woodworking and was often found tinkering in his shop. He was a regular at Who's Diner, where he was always treated like family. His compassionate heart extended to all living creatures, and he had a particular soft spot for animals. Harold was known for his generosity, always willing to lend a hand or give of himself to others.
Harold's life was one of service, love, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to inspire and guide those he leaves behind.
