I recall Red Lutz being a place kicker at Alabama before he became Coach Lutz. I have many fond memories of his coaching days at Fairfield where his teams were hard to beat. Fond memories of this gentle man!
Coach Lutz was an amazing influence on my life. I was so blessed to have him as a coach in school & contact in later years. Fairfield High 1957-1961

My husband coached with Coach Lutz at Tuscaloosa High School many years ago. I taught with Mary at Holt High school. They were special people, and I hated for them to move away.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Coach Lutz. What a precious man he was! Such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather! He was a friend to all! I'm forever thankful for the joy and privilege of knowing Coach and Mary. They were such a blessing to our family, an unexpected, immeasurable gift of love from the Lord to all of us.
