Born on April 30, 1949, in Montgomery, Alabama, Harold was a man known for his loving nature, humorous spirit, and adventurous heart. Throughout his 75 years, he touched the lives of many with his kindness and his unwavering dedication to his family.
Harold, affectionately known by all as just Harold, was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid outdoorsman who took great delight in squirrel hunting, a pastime that allowed him to enjoy the serenity of nature. His creative spirit shone through in his unique hobby of making canes from vines, a craft that showcased his artistic side and his love for the environment.
Family gatherings were a source of immense happiness for Harold. Renowned for his role as the grill helper and tester, he relished the opportunity to be surrounded by loved ones and good food. Harold's presence at these functions was a testament to his love for family and the joy he found in fellowship. His warm and welcoming demeanor meant that he never met a stranger; to Harold, everyone was a "Buddy."
Professionally, Harold dedicated many years to the Holman Floor Company as a skilled flooring installer. His strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident in every project he undertook. In his leisure time, Harold could often be found walking the roads of his hometown, collecting cans to recycle. This activity was not only a testament to his concern for the environment but also an example of his industrious character.
Above all, Harold's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He took immense pride in helping his family whenever and however he could, always putting their needs ahead of his own. This selfless nature made him the rock upon which his family could always rely.
Harold is survived by a loving family that will miss him dearly: his brothers, Clifford Bose Holman, Johnny "BoBo" Holman, and Robert Joseph Holman; his sisters, Linda Holman Owens and Debbie Holman Huppe (Doug); and a host of nieces and nephews who adored their uncle. Harold's legacy of love and laughter will live on through them.
His departure was preceded by the loss of his beloved father, Clifford Debose Holman; his mother, Ida Agnes Holman; his sister, Laverne Holman Strickland; and his brothers, Charles Edwards Holman and Benjamin Calvin Holman. They have now welcomed him into eternal rest, where they are surely rejoicing in their reunion.
