Ms. Gwendolyn Ann Hatton "Thornton"'s Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Gwendolyn Ann Hatton "Thornton", 72, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Ms. Hatton passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her residence. She was born on October 13, 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama to Leheman Hatton and Flora Evelyn Manning Hatton. She was an active member of Comer Memorial Baptist Church. She retired from Russell Medical Center as radiology secretary and was employed with the Alexander City Board of Education as well as the Social Security Office. Gwendolyn was loved and well respected by many.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn Michelle Jones; granddaughter, Cameron Elizabeth Shores; stepdaughters, Misti Bass, Christi Thornton; stepson, Gerron Thornton; several step-grandchildren; brothers, Roger Hatton, Barry (Michele) Hatton and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
