Gloria Williamson's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Gloria Jean Williamson, 87, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Pastor Tony Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Williamson passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on December 25, 1935 in Tallapoosa County to Race Milton Thornton and Lula Elizabeth Thornell Thornton. Gloria was a sitter for many years, taking care of the elderly. She volunteered at Lake Martin Community Hospital Auxiliary. Gloria retired from Russell Corp. as a supervisor after 44 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gloria was a dedicated member of Family Worship Center. She was an avid dominoes player and also enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Pike (James) of Alexander City, Pamela Polly of Jacksons Gap, and Paulette Davis of Jacksons Gap; grandchildren, Kerrie Carr, Andy Scott, Chan Pike (Kim), Kevin Pike, Misty Davis, Shannon Davis, Kimberly Davis, Chase Polly (Kelli), and Craig Joiner; many great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Lana Scott of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donnie Williamson; son, Ricky Scott; seven siblings; and son-in-law, Chris Adamson.
