Mrs. Glenda Faye Welch's Obituary
Funeral service for Mrs. Glenda Faye Welch, 75, of Hackneyville, will be Thursday, April 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. David Sherrell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Welch passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Russell Medical Center. She was born on February 20, 1940 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to John Dutchel Mattox and Lou Neil Martin Mattox. She was an active member of Campground United Methodist Church and the Hackneyville Bible Study Club. Mrs. Welch loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. She enjoyed making beaded bracelets, reading, cooking and watching Gaither family videos.
She is survived by her daughter, Robbie W. Alford (Jerry), of Alexander City; sons, James Hoyt Welch, Jr. of Alexander City, Glen Thomas Welch (Dee), of Alexander City, and Joe Neal Welch (Kim), of Goodwater; grandchildren, Jason Welch, Kate Ponder, Kyle Welch, Cameron Welch, Audra Welch, Connor Alford, Grady Alford, Ryan Grant, and Kyndal Grant; great-grandchildren, Jakob Welch, Adeline Welch, and T.J. Ponder; sister, Becky Yates (Dwayne), of Alexander City; and brother, Billy James Mattox (Danielle), of Alexander City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Welch and parents.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054-C McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111.
