Mrs. Glenda Gail Hooks' Obituary
Mrs. Glenda Gail Hooks, 61, of Alexander City, will be Friday, April 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at Hillview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Glenda Gail Hooks passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Russell Medical, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.
Glenda was born on August 23, 1964, to Obie Fuller and Cora Tidwell. She grew up with the values of faith, hard work, family, and those qualities remained at the center of her life. She was a Christian and lived her life in a way that reflected her beliefs, her kindness, and her care for others.
Those who knew her best will remember her as funny, loving, and passionate, a woman whose warm spirit could brighten a room and whose presence brought comfort to the people she loved.
For several years, Glenda worked at Madix , where she was known for her dependable nature and strong work ethic. She took pride in doing her best and in se4ving others with a steady and caring heart. Her life marked not only by the work she did, but also by the way she carried herself each day, with grace, strength and a genuine concern for those around her.
Family was the center of Glenda’s world, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She is survived by her husband, David Randall Hooks; her sons, James Carey (Brandon), Jeffrey Hooks (Cam), Michael Hooks (Hollie); and her daughter, Shasta Brown (Ben). She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Brown (Lynn), Donna James (Don). Her memory will live on in her grandchildren, Caleb Hooks, Devin Brown, Kaley Brown, Alyssa Hooks, Kaden Hooks, TJ Hooks, Zachary Hooks, Ayden Hooks, and Drake Hooks, as well as in the many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Glenda found great joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She enjoyed diamond painting and adult coloring books, and she loved sewing for her family. She also found peace in gardening and took great pride in growing beautiful roses. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness and filled her days with laughter and love. Her home and her heart were always open, and she creates a place of warmth and comfort for those fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Obie Fuller; her mother, Cora Tidwell; her grandson, Alec Hooks; and her brother, Verlin Tidwell. Though her earthly journey has ended, the love she gave and the memories she created will continue to bless her family for years to come.
Glenda Gail Hooks will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her devotion to her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of others. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and perseverance, and her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
