Gertie Gordon Downing's Obituary
Believing, to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord, Gertie Gordon Downing has left behind friends and family to celebrate her life. She is survived by her children, Dana (Randall) McClendon, Debra (Doug) Dunn, and Mitchell (Laurie) Downing; grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Mann, Anna (Shan) Perry, Andrew Dunn (Rebecca) Bloom, and Ryan Downing; great-grandchildren, Caleb Mann and Abby Mann; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Arthur Gordon; mother, Bertie Parrish Gordon; husband, Richard Daniel Downing; son, Richard Dawson Downing; sister, Yvonne Culp; and brother, Earl Gordon.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mrs. Downing’s niece, Cristy, as well as the staff at Brown Nursing Home for the loving care and support that was given.
