George Boissel's Obituary
Mr. George Phillip Boissel, of Lake Martin, Alabama, passed suddenly from this life on November 25, 2023. Phil was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on January 9, 1939, to Dollie Elsie Powell Boissel and Arthur Lee Boissel. He graduated from Phillips High School in Birmingham and received a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters Degree from Auburn University. Phil served his community in various capacities over the years, including as President of the Capital City Kiwanis Club, President of the Montgomery Area Council on Aging, as Chairman of the Board of Deacons at Heritage Baptist Church, and on the Board of Directors at Baptist Medical Center. He was an avid golfer and a talented musician. he was also a regular performer with his band at Red Hill Community Center where he will be remembered for playing guitar, harmonica and singing his favorite Willie Nelson Songs. He always had an uplifting word and was known for making everyone around feel at ease and involved.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Susan T. Boissel; three daughters, Bethnee Boissel Durham (Alan), Jennifer Boissel McCain, Kelly Holley Head (Andy); son, Chris Holley; grandchildren, Mallory Durham, Trevor Durham (Kaleigh), Jaxon Durham, Nate McCain, Phillip McCain, Tristen Holley, Ashlyn Holley, and Houston Head; nieces, Kathy Boissel Parks and Julie Boissel; and nephew, Allen Boissel (Gracie).
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Sonny Boissel; and nephew Randy Boissel.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choosing.
