Gary became a friend a long time ago. Once he became my friend, we continued to be friends, also his sister, Sherry came to Goodwater High School from Kellyton and was in my 9th grade class. Years later,He found out I worked in a beauty shop, he and his wife became customers until the distance became a problem but if he was just passing by, he would stop and pay a visit. He was a personality plus , funny, smart kind man! RIP my friend

I wanted to extend my most sincere condolences at this difficult time. I never met Gary, but heard stories often as I am his stepdaughter's aunt by marriage. I know he was a larger than life character with a heart to match; I can only imagine the cheering contests between Gary and Dawn during the yearly Iron Bowl as they cheered for opposite teams. I hope Bear is among those who greeted Gary at Heaven's gates. I pray for comfort, solace and peace for each of you.
