Mr. Fred "Freddy" Nolen Thompson Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral Service for Fred "Freddy" Nolen Thompson, Jr., 77, of Alexander City, will be Friday, April 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Dr. Steve King will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mr. Freddy passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his residence. He was born on May 2, 1948, in Alexander City, Alabama to Fred N. Thompson, Sr. and Helen Cannon Thompson. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Alexander City until his health prevented his attendance.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara W. Thompson; daughter, Andee (David) Hodo; daughter, Courtney Thompson; son, Brady Thompson; grandsons, Henry Hodo and James Hodo; sister, Jeanie Burnett; niece, Becky (Buddy) Newton; nephew, Jimmy (Jennice) Lockwood; niece, Katy (Robert) Fletcher; and numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Freddy loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandsons. He loved to read, travel, complete crossword puzzles, and support his Auburn Tigers in any sport.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the nursery at the First Baptist Church of Alexander City, 64 Court Square, Alexander City, AL. 35010.
