Mr. Eric Belcher's Obituary
Eric Belcher, 65, of Rockford, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. The beloved son of the late Freeman Belcher, Sr and Lucretia Williams, he was born in Sussex, New Jersey, on March 4, 1960.
After spending his early years in Sussex County, NJ, he later moved to Bradenton, FL; Rocky Mount, VA; and to Rockford, AL. For most of his life he was employed as a drywaller.
Mr. Belcher was a simple Christian man with an unwavering faith in God. He took great joy in sharing the gospel with anyone who would listen. In his spare time, you could find him playing his acoustic guitar, singing songs, or finding serenity in the beauty of swimming fish. Although he had a sweet tooth for lemon cookies and Bit O' Honey candy, his sweetest treasure was his girls.
He is survived by two daughters, Leeanne Bleakley of Newton, NJ and Sheila Hernandez of Bradenton, FL; two grandchildren, Steven C. Flood of Sparta, NJ and Emily R. Hernandez of Bradenton, FL; a sister, Mary (Jeff) Toriello of Wantage, NJ; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Diana Baxter of Rockford, AL.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Freeman and Brian Belcher, and son-in-law, Marcos Hernandez.
"My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." -Psalm 73:26
Arrangements were made by Radney Funeral Home, Alexander City, AL. His final resting place will be in Sussex County, NJ. Further details will be shared later.
