Mrs. Emma Jeanne Claybrook's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Emma Jeanne Claybrook, 92, of Alexander City, will be Friday, September 15, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Tim Harris will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Claybrook, a faith-filled, selfless, and wise woman, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023, in Montgomery, AL. Born on May 6, 1931, in Alexander City, AL, she was a beloved figure in her community and family.
Emma Jeanne was a proud graduate of Benjamin Russell High School. After her education, she dedicated many years to Russell Corp, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues. She later transitioned into the role of a homemaker, where she found immense joy and fulfillment in caring for her family.
Emma Jeanne was a devoted member of Comer Memorial Baptist Church, where her faith-filled spirit shone brightly. Her wisdom and selfless nature were evident in all aspects of her life, from her professional pursuits to her personal relationships. Known for her skill in sewing and knitting, Emma also found great joy in tending to her beautiful garden. She was also known as a wonderful cook, her meals bringing her family together on many occasions.
Emma Jeanne is survived by her sons, Rick Claybrook (Nelda) of Deatsville and Tim Claybrook (Phyllis) of Prattville. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Amanda Claybrook Young (T.J.) and Kaitlyn Claybrook, and her great-grandchild, Piper Young. Her nieces, Kathy Moore and Beverly Smith, will also remember her fondly.
Emma Jeanne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Rush Claybrook, and their son, Mark Cody Claybrook. She was also predeceased by her parents, James Cary and Kate Smith, her sister, Ruby Hurst, and her brothers, J.C., Lewis, and Jimmy Smith.
Emma Jeanne will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her legacy of love, faith, and wisdom will continue to live on through her family and all those who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever be a beacon of light in the hearts of her loved ones.
