Mrs. Emily Jean McLeod's Obituary
Graveside Service for Mrs. Emily Jean McLeod, 82, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 12:00 pm at the Hillview Memorial Park. Rev. Blue Vardaman will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. McLeod passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022, at her residence. She was born on March 7, 1940, in Alexander City, Alabama to James G. Porch and Cleo Jean Black Porch. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Emily retired from Russell Corporation where she held the position of Administrative Assistant. After retirement she and her husband enjoyed spending time with family and friends. They enjoyed traveling with their granddaughter to her many activities and trips to the beach and mountains with family. Many afternoons and evenings were spent on her front porch watching the birds eat from her many feeders and just enjoying nature.
She is survived by her son, Randy McLeod; daughter, Lane Templin (Billy); granddaughter, Paxton L. Dewberry (Jayme); great-grandson, Russ Dewberry; sister, Sue Hearn (Mike) and special cousin, Marquita Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Charles McLeod, and her parents.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Children’s Harbor, One Our Children’s Highway, Alexander City, AL, 35010.
