Mrs. Elizabeth LaVon Williams' Obituary
Elizabeth LaVon Williams passed away at Chapman Healthcare Center on July 23, 2017. She is remembered by her family and all who knew her as a beautiful woman, both in body and in spirit.
A Celebration of her life will be held at Radney Funeral Home Chapel in Alexander City, Alabama, at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 29, 2017, followed by a private burial service at Hillview Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:45pm at Radney’s preceding the service.
LaVon was born on April 28, 1919, in Independence, Virginia. In 1940, she graduated from Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a degree in speech and drama and a minor in history. She married Clarke Williams on September 11, 1943. In 1975, they moved to Lake Martin and lived in the Windermere community for many years.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Hawkins (Don), her son Eldon Williams, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to First United Methodist Church, 310 Green Street, Alexander City, Alabama 35010.
