Mrs. Elizabeth Causey Hawkins' Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Elizabeth Causey Hawkins, 96, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Densmore will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hawkins passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on August 13, 1926, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to John Malcolm Causey and Bunie Allie Funderburk Causey. She was a member of Goodwater United Methodist Church where she was actively involved in Bible Study and teaching of young and old. She was a lifetime member of the Coosa County Historical Society as well as the United Methodist Women, Member of the Garden Club, and a Girl Scout Leader. She assisted at the Goodwater Public Library and loved being among the books, served as substitute teacher at Goodwater High School.
She enjoyed many activities such as water aerobics, bridge, walking, playing piano and Scrabble.
She is survived by her daughters, Pat Hawkins Cofield (Jim) of Auburn, Helen Hawkins Dickinson and Susan Hawkins Hardman (Gary) both of Alexander City; grandchildren, Loren "Ren" Cofield (Pam), Chet Cofield (Courtney), Mary Leah Smith (Marty), Gregory Brian Dickinson (Holley), Erica Lynn Laney (David), Robert Douglas Hardman; great-grandchildren, Abby, Ella Kate, Palmer and Vivi Cofield, Owen and Ethan Yntema, Thomas and Lily Dickinson, and Caden, Ava and Allie Laney.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ted Hawkins; parents; sister, Ann Wilson and son-in-law, Eddie Frank Dickinson.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Goodwater United Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund, P.O Box 32, Goodwater, AL, 35072.
