Edward Gene Pyle's Obituary
Edward Gene Pyle, 85 of Sebring, FL passed away at home on October 24,2019. He was born August 19, 1934 in San Diego CA, to Geneva Brixey Pyle and Edward Carmack Pyle. A graduate of Rome High School in Rome, GA and the University of Southern California, he served in the United States Marine Corps, worked as a photographical engineer for NASA and owned a business in Alabama. Gene had a servant’s heart, volunteered his time and resources to Gideons International, Methodist Children’s Home and was involved in Prison Ministries.
He is survived by his loving companion, Judy Zemko of Sebring, FL, daughter Janna (Buddy) Jackson of Wetumpka, AL, son Steve (Kristy) Pyle of Millbrook, AL, grandchildren Andy Jackson of Birmingham, AL, Emily (Rick) Lauderdale of Prattville, AL, Brixey (John Blake) Webster of Vestavia Hills, AL, Turner (Alex) Fain of Cookeville, TN, Sawyer Pyle of Auburn, AL; great grandchildren, Veronica and Nora Jackson of Birmingham, AL, Amber (Lee) Anderson on Florence, AL, Autumn Rainha of Portland, OR, Alex and Jackson Davis of Prattville, AL, Haddon and Ellis Webster of Vestavia Hills, AL, Fitz Fain of Cookeville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Joan Pyle, his brother Tommy Pyle and infant son Michael Brixey Pyle.
Family and friends will gather Tues, Nov 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Church in the Pines, Lake Martin, AL to celebrate the life of Gene Pyle. Symbolic of his generosity and search for knowledge, he chose to donate his body to science at the University of Central Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Rd., Sebring, FL 33870.
