Earl Wayne Keel's Obituary
A visitation for Mr. Earl Wayne Keel will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Radney Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
Earl Wayne Keel was a devoted husband and father. Earl was a friendly outgoing person making friends everywhere he went. He left this world with the same dignity and grace with which he lived, surrounded by the love of his family. On a journey marked by hard work, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones, Earl's story is one of a life well-lived and cherished.
Born to the late Cary Judson Keel and Minni Lurleen Keel, Earl grew up with a foundation of strong family values, which he carried into every aspect of his life. He attended Benjamin Russell High School. Earl's career was a testament to his dedication and skill, as he found joy and purpose in operating heavy equipment, eventually becoming the superintendent of the forestry division for Hercules Inc.
Earl's passion extended beyond his professional life and into his personal interests. He was a master gardener, taking pride in nurturing the earth raising vegetables for family and friends. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace in the serenity of nature. But above all, Earl loved his grandchildren dearly. They were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment he spent with them.
A natural storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor, Earl delighted in making others laugh. His jokes and tales will be fondly remembered and retold, keeping his spirit alive in the hearts of those who knew him. He was the kind of person who could fix anything, a handy man whose talents were always at the service of friends and family.Earl's legacy is carried on by a loving family who will miss him deeply. He is survived by his children, Dawn Lindsay (Bill), Michelle Keel, Steve Keel (Lori), and Andy Keel (Frida). His grandchildren, Rhiannon McCook (Daniel), Rhett King, Dalton Keel, Jud Keel, and Amelia Keel, will hold onto the wisdom and joy he imparted. Earl's brothers, Jimmy Keel (Martha), Johnny Keel (Judy), and Rayford Keel (Brenda), along with his sister, Sue Bass (Harold), and his sister-in-law, Charlene Keel, will continue to honor the bond of siblinghood that was so important to him. Even his feline friend, Diamond Cat, will sense the loss of a caring companion.Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Elaine Keel, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. Together, they created a family and a home that was a haven of happiness and warmth. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Cary Judson Keel Jr., George Ed Keel, Vera Mae Veazey, Harold Dean Keel, and Bobby Joe Keel.
Earl Wayne Keel's life was a reflection of the things he valued most: family, friendship, and a good laugh. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we take comfort in knowing that his influence will continue to be felt through the lives he touched and the love he shared. His absence will be felt acutely, but the memories he created will provide solace and inspiration for generations to come. Earl's journey on earth has concluded, but his story-marked by love, laughter, and dedication-will be told for years to come.
