Graveside Service for Mr. Douglas Warren Dark, 87, of Tallassee, will be Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Dark-Maxwell Cemetery, 3782 Old Dark Road, Alexander City, AL.
Mr. Dark passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1938, in Alexander City, Alabama to Oliver Alton Dark and Lucille Warren Dark.
Retired military, Desert Storm Veteran, Alabama state retiree and dedicated Auburn fan. Douglas never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda J. Dark; children, Douglas Warren Dark Jr., Dwayne (Lisa) Dark, Elaine (Dennis) Floyd, Philip (Lori) Dark, Davon M. (Sid) Safui, Darcie J. Dark, Geoffrey A. Dark; grandchildren, April (Airion) Robinson, Abby (Nicholas) Newman, Brooklyn (Ward) White, Anderson (Caroline) Floyd; great-grandchildren, Hanna Newman, Beckham Floyd and Addie White; sisters, Gloria Ellison, and Luanne D. White and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Rachel Dark and sister, Carolyn McCord.
