Dorothy Turner's Obituary
Funeral Service for Ms. Dorothy Turner, 83, of Alexander City, will be Friday, August 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the River of Life Worship Center. Rev. Michael Waldrop and James Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at River of Life Worship Center.
Ms. Turner passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Brown Nursing Home. She was born on October 18, 1940 in Alexander City, Alabama to Marvin Eugene Bice and Willie Maude Price Bice. She attended River of Life Worship Center. A devout Christian, Dorothy's life was a testament to her love for the Lord. Her days were often spent in worship and reflection of her Savior, imbuing her family with a legacy of faith and devotion. Equally deep was her adoration for her dogs, highlighting her expansive compassion towards all living creatures.
Dorothy's heart held an infinite space for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, cherishing the moments and milestones that knit together the tapestry of her family memories. Described by those who knew her best as passionate, faith-filled, and empathetic, Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love and the virtues of living a life anchored in faith and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Timmy) Smith of Jacksons Gap, Lyn (James) Brown of Gainesville, FL, and Tracy (David) Ashworth of Alexander City; sons, Donnie Estes of Wetumpka and Jimmy (Denise) Turner of Talladega; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric) Vickers, Crystal (Jerry Lewis) Caldwell, Leigh Ann (Matt) Stroud, Rebekah Turner, Elizabeth Turner, Nathan Mowatt, Rachel (Martin) Barnett, Sarah Turner, Charlie Walker, Hannah (Jacob) Wallace, Leah Turner, Abigail Turner, Jamie (Kimm McPhearson) Brown, Ashley (Greg) Watts, Lindsey Brown, Makenzie (Anna Whitaker) Brown, Justin Ashworth, and Sarah (Hunter) Whalen, great-grandchildren, Haden Vickers, Lathan Vickers, Matthew Caldwell, Dylan (Rachel) Caldwell, Heather (Seth Meadors) Caldwell, Parker Stroud, Dalton Stroud, Ocean Goff, Luna Goff, October Barnett, Evelyn Barnett, Ember Barnett, Ena Brown, and Rylee Whalen; great-great-grandchild, Harlyn Caldwell; and a host of nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Galloway; brothers, Johnny Mac Bice and Bobby Bice.
