Mrs. Doris Helen Speake's Obituary
Funeral Service for Mrs. Doris Helen Speake, 95, of Tallassee, Alabama, will be Friday, October 28, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Cummings will officiate. Burial will follow in the Russell Farm Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Mrs. Speake passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Tallassee Health and Rehab. She was born on August 2, 1927 in Tallapoosa County to Ralph Conner Henry and Eva Rena Meigs Henry. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church. She was a 1945 graduate of Hackneyville High School. She spent her career working with the Department of Revenue for the State of AL. She loved to read and solve puzzles. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Jones of Oxford, Nyoka Hatchett of Tallassee, and Darnay Lambert of Tallassee; son, Wayne Henry (Sandra) of Milton, FL; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Janet Henry of Springfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James W.H. Speake; sister, Nelda Henry; brothers, George Henry and Herman Henry.
