Donald George Lamoureux, age 82, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of courage, devotion, and quiet kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.
He was born on September 6, 1943, in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to Armand L. Lamoureux and Gloria A. LaBlanc Lamoureux. Donald was raised with strong values of hard work, loyalty, and respect, qualities that remained with him throughout his life and were reflected in the way he cared for his family and carried himself each day.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army for 13 years. His military service included three tours in Germany, as well as assignments at several Army bases throughout the United States. During the Vietnam War, he was injured in service and received two Purple Hearts, honors that spoke to his bravery and sacrifice. He held his military service close to his heart and carried with him a deep respect for the life he built through dedication and perseverance.
Those who knew Donald will remember him as a funny, generous, and courageous man. He had a sharp sense of humor and a warm presence that could brighten a room. He was hardworking in every sense of the word and took pride in keeping things clean and tidy. He believed in doing things the right way and was known for his steady nature and dependable spirit. Above all, he loved his wife dearly and found great joy in the life they shared together.
Donald also had a deep love for animals, especially cats, and he enjoyed the comfort and companionship they brought into his home. He and his wife shared a special interest in horse shows, and he attended them with her. Donald also showed horses in a few shows himself, an experience that reflected both his appreciation for the animals and his willingness to take part in the things his family enjoyed. These moments brought him happiness and added to the many memories cherished by those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wanda T. Lamoureux; daughter, Elizabeth Dawn (Mark) Hoozer; sons, Robert Joseph (Roni) Lamoureux and Donald Jorge Lamoureux; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and brothers, Richard A. (Carmen) Lamoureux and William A. (Lillia) Lamoureux. His family was a source of great pride and joy in his life, and he treasured the bonds he shared with them.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Lamoureux.
Though his passing leaves a deep emptiness, his family and friends will continue to carry forward the memory of his strength, his humor, and the love he gave so freely.
His life was one of service, devotion, and resilience. Donald George Lamoureux will be remembered with love and respect by all whose lives he touched.
