Diane entered into the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. She was born on December 27, 1937, in Alexander City, Alabama to L.C. "Po'boy" Ray and Sara Smith Ray. During the time she resided in Alex City, Diane graduated from Benjamin Russell High School, and was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Later, she held a career as an administrative assistant to multiple State Farm Insurance Agencies around Tuscaloosa before she settled down and began focusing more on her family. Diane was completely devoted to her children and would always be there to support them during any and all extracurricular activities. She was naturally social and cared deeply for others with unwavering loyalty. Diane had a great sense of humor, and her laughter could often be heard while enjoying time with the ones who affectionately called her "granny" and "gran." Diane was a treasured and dedicated mother, wife, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Her kindness and humor touched many lives.
Diane is survived by her son, Ron Lonergan, Jr. (Tonya); daughter, Dee Mason (Mark); grandchildren, Sutton Mason, Cooper Mason, Anna Lonergan, Paige Lonergan; nieces, Linda Buchanan (Tim), Jeannine Williams (Devereaux), Cindy Smith, Beth Ann Denson (Steve), Jamie Thrasher (Bobby); and nephews, Calvin Giordano, Joel Lonergan (Terry).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald C. Lonergan, Sr.; parents, L.C. "Po'boy" and Sara Ray; and sister, Anita Giordano.
