Daniel Piland's Obituary
A visitation for Daniel Piland, age 34 of Alexander City will be on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Daniel Piland, a cherished son, father, partner, colleague, and friend, passed away on February 8, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on August 29, 1990, Daniel's warmth and vivacity left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
Daniel is lovingly remembered by his mother, Tabatha Piland, of Alexander City, AL; his father, Troy Piland; his adored son, Dillian Piland; his special loved one, Jennifer Woodruff; his stepchild, Kaelyn Woodruff; his grandmothers, Deborah Reyes and Beverly Alexander; his grandfather, Ron Piland; his uncles, Allen Piland, Paul Bernhardt, Jimmy Bernhardt, and Shawn Bernhardt; his aunts, Tammy Piland, Virginia Piland, and Leanne Bernhardt; and his close friends, Corey Tingle and Justin Burkhalter. Each family member held a special place in Daniel's heart, and his absence will be deeply felt by each of them.
Daniel's professional life was as a dedicated lineman, a career that was more than a job to him-it was a calling. He took great pride in his work with Alabama Power, Linetec, and the Union, where his skills and commitment to safety were evident to all who worked alongside him. His colleagues will remember him not only for his intelligent approach to problem-solving but also for his ever-present sense of humor that could lighten the mood of even the most challenging workdays.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Daniel was a man who cherished his family above all. His love for his son, Dillian, was unparalleled, and he embraced his role as a father with every ounce of his being. He also found joy in his relationship with Jennifer Woodruff and her daughter, Kaelyn, whom he loved as his own. Daniel's ability to make each family member feel special and valued was one of his most remarkable traits.
An intelligent, funny, and loving man, Daniel had a gift for making people laugh and think in equal measure. His quick wit was matched only by his capacity for deep, meaningful conversations about life. Those who knew Daniel understood that beneath his playful exterior was a man of profound emotional depth and insight.
Daniel's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He loved his job and approached it not just as a means to an end, but as a part of who he was. His enthusiasm for his work was infectious, and he often shared stories of his day-to-day experiences with anyone willing to listen. But it was his love for his family that truly defined him. He built a life that revolved around the people he cared for, and he never missed an opportunity to show his affection and support.
As we remember Daniel, we reflect on a life lived with gusto and generosity. His ability to balance a demanding career with a rich and fulfilling personal life is a testament to the type of man he was. Daniel's legacy is not just in the work he did or the people he helped, but in the laughter, wisdom, and love he shared.
As the sun sets on Daniel's journey here with us, we take solace in the countless memories he has left behind. A man of such spirit and joy, Daniel's story does not end with his passing but continues in the lives of those he touched. His light, like the lines he once maintained, will continue to guide and connect us in the days and years to come.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Daniel Piland will be profoundly missed, but the imprint he left on our hearts will remain forever.
