Funeral Service for Mrs. Cynthia Kerlin Price, 73, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Densmore will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.
Cynthia Kerlin Price, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 4, 2024, in Birmingham, AL, at the age of 73. Born on April 12, 1951, in Alexander City, AL, Cynthia lived a life marked by love, dedication, and a spirit of generosity that touched everyone she knew.
Cynthia was the heart of her family, a bond of love and strength that connected them all. She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, John Wiley Price, and her loving daughters, Rebecca Channell (Josh Flournoy), Jennifer Ingle, Vickie Tuggle and her husband Michael, and Joni Price (Daniel Yates). She was the proud grandmother of Jon Price, Carli Peterson and her husband Scott, Alyssa Channell, and Anderson Channell. Cynthia's joyous presence will also be missed by a host of other family members, including her sister-in-law, Marlene Kerlin. She was preceded in death by her father, Grover Lesley Kerlin, her mother, Addie Laverne Kerlin, and her brother, Harold Kerlin.
A proud graduate of Hackneyville High School in 1969, Cynthia carried the light of her education into every aspect of her life. She was a dedicated member of Sunny Level Methodist Church and found comfort and community in attending services at Church in the Pines. Cynthia's commitment to her faith was unwavering, and her belief in the power of prayer was a testament to her spiritual devotion.
Cynthia's professional life was characterized by her role as the Office Manager at Piggly Wiggly, where she was known for her efficiency, warmth, and the ability to make everyone feel welcome. Her work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the many customers she served over the years.
Cynthia's passions were as diverse as they were deeply rooted. She was a master seamstress, creating beautiful garments and gifts with her talented hands. Her love for baking was renowned, especially her cornbread and banana nut bread, which were staples at family gatherings. The art of canning was another skill she honed with precision, preserving the flavors of the seasons for all to enjoy. Cynthia's garden was a testament to her love for flowers, each bloom nurtured with care.
An avid reader, Cynthia found solace and adventure in the pages of books, and she could often be found piecing together puzzles, a pastime that reflected her patience and attention to detail. Traveling was a joy for Cynthia, particularly when it involved supporting her grandchildren in their endeavors. Her love for photography captured the beauty of the world around her, and her natural ability to connect with people was evident in the way she never met a stranger.
Cynthia's legacy is one of boundless love and selflessness. Her dedication to her family was paramount, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, playing games and spoiling them with affection and care. She was the kind of person who made a lasting impression on everyone she met, her warmth and kindness leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Children's Harbor or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
